What to look for in the booths
Rose Squared’s juried lineup spans ceramics, jewelry, wood, glass, fiber, photography, furniture and more. The show is a good place to compare how makers handle a shared material in very different ways. Look at the joinery of wood objects, the balance of a vessel, the light through glass and the finish of wearable pieces. You can browse the organizer’s artist list ahead of time, then make room for discoveries.
Speaking with the artisan adds another layer to a purchase. Ask what techniques were used, whether a piece is part of a series and how to care for it. If you are collecting for a specific space, bring measurements and a few photos so you can judge scale and color in context. A small notebook or artist card can help you return to favorite booths.
An easy city outing
The tents sit in one of Center City’s best-known public squares, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Plan a generous loop of the show, pause for a meal, and make a second pass before you leave. Because the event runs rain or shine, check the forecast and dress for an outdoor visit. Friday and Saturday offer an extra hour compared with Sunday.
