What visitors can expect
The organizer’s introduction highlights paintings, sculpture and jewelry among the work on display. The gallery format encourages comparisons across artists: notice how a sculptural form changes a room, how a painting behaves at different distances, or how a piece of jewelry sits against the body. Ask the artist about material, scale and care before making a decision.
What makes this show special
Saturday’s Discovery Day connects looking with doing. From 11 a.m.–3 p.m., the published program includes drop-in community weaving and a student art exhibition, alongside free demonstrations and separately ticketed workshops. Natural dye, metalsmithing and ceramics are among the demonstration subjects; watercolor, linocut and embroidery workshops have their own fees, age guidance and limited places. Use the Discovery Day schedule to choose an activity and confirm availability.
That educational emphasis gives the outing another dimension. Watching a process can sharpen the questions you bring back to the gallery, while the student exhibition offers a different perspective on artistic experimentation.
Planning your visit
Choose your session before traveling: the free gallery opens later on Friday than it does on Saturday, and some daytime Friday activities are intended for particular school or alumni groups. If you plan a workshop, allow time to reach its campus room without rushing through the exhibition. Ask the organizer for current arrival, parking and accessibility arrangements.
