Art framed by a red-rock landscape

The festival’s outdoor setting gives paintings, sculpture and other works a visual conversation with the surrounding landscape. Spend time looking at a piece before reading its label or asking about it, then speak with the artist about process and materials. Juried shows can reward a full pass: the work that stays with you after several rows may be the one worth returning to.

This is also an opportunity to compare how artists respond to place without assuming every work is about Sedona. Look for differences in color, scale, texture and technique. If a larger piece interests you, ask about delivery and installation before committing. For smaller works, learn about care in Sedona’s dry climate and at home.

Plan for the outdoor venue

The festival takes place at Sedona Red Rock High School rather than in the central tourist district. Build in travel time and bring water, sun protection and comfortable shoes. The organizer says the event is smoke-free, and pets are not permitted on school property except service animals. Confirm parking and ticket details on the official page before setting out.
